Hilton Garden Inn West Monroe

$15 breakfast with grey eggs and off brand cheerios. Beds are good, bathrooms have water damage and poorly fitted tub, no fan either. If there were any shining example for what US needs more hostel-type establishments, this is it. Seems like there’s just too much going on for the nice people (and the service was great!) who work here to manage effectively (laundry room! business center! restaurant/bar! pool!), and management is trying to get what $ they can out of the place, which is also understandable. Just not the best situation🤷‍♂️

I’m sad to make this review. I love most of the Hilton properties but this one is extremely unprofessional. Was there a proper background check done on the employees here? One of the employees made a claim that my father’s card was charged an extra $200 for the television in the room. They stated “he stole it” after his check out. This is not only defamation of his character, but they had no proof or footage from their cameras that he ‘stole’ it. My parents came here to visit me for the holidays. They only stayed at the hotel for somewhere to sleep. They were at my home for the majority of their stay. This specific location does not uphold the standard to make sure their guests have a warm and welcoming stay. Originally they were supposed to stay for 3 days and ended up leaving a day early due to work, and I have reason to believe they tried to find any reason to charge him for the third day. I would suggest that incompetent employee that came up with such an asinine statement be released from their duties. I will also be making a phone call to corporate since this location is no longer answering my phone calls. This is completely unacceptable behavior and someone needs to be held accountable.

Update to your response: I know your hotel employees are aware of how filthy these rooms are and worn down. You still choose not to address and fix these issues. We came in for a wedding. We were told we would receive a refund for checking out a day early. I do hope to see that promise kept. Staff is friendly, good location. The rooms are very dirty and and a strong odor. We changed rooms and the 2nd room was slightly better still dirty and smelly. Checked out a day early. ** Do not choose this hotel.**

The room was good, but the soap in the shower was empty and shampoo was almost empty. No disinfecting wipes in the gym and the front desk didn't have any when asked. This makes me wonder what other sanitary measures are overlooked at this location. Also, the water was brown and slimy, but this might be an issue outside of the hotel's control.
